"The Law & You" Course

The Law & You (Youth Edition) is a straight-talk  course that shows teens how everyday choices can cross legal lines—and  what the real-world consequences look like. We break down what actually  counts as a crime in plain language, covering categories like sex  offenses (consent, age, images), aggravated assault (fights, weapons),  kidnapping (even “holding” someone), armed robbery (phones, bikes, store  thefts), gang affiliation, and more. Students learn the elements  prosecutors must prove, how digital behavior (DMs, pics, group chats)  can create evidence, and where peer pressure turns into criminal  liability.

Just as important, we make sentencing real. Youth see typical  penalties, mandatory minimums, and how prior records, weapons, or gangs  can add years. Every module pairs “what the law says” with safe choices,  de-escalation skills, and decision tools to avoid trouble—plus what to  do if stopped by police. Empowering, honest, and practical, The Law & You helps teens protect their future by understanding the law before it’s too late.
